SchoolhouseTeachers.com, created and run by The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, is an incredible resource for teachers, homeschooling families, and also for parents who just want to supplement their children’s education at home. This wonderful online learning center is absolutely packed with online courses with organized lesson plans, video courses, planners, bookkeeping templates, ebooks for parents, online access to The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, and so many other resources. In this review, I’m sharing what all is included in the Ultimate Annual Yearly Membership option.
The organization of SchoolhouseTeachers.com is very easy to follow. There is a “Start Here” tab that gives information about homeschooling, co-ops, how to use the website, planning, recordkeeping, and where to go after you read through the introductory information. No matter where you are in your homeschool journey, there is something at Schoolhouse Teachers for your family. There are courses offered for PreK into High School, and even some courses for parents only. Not only are there parent courses about homeschooling, but also about raising kids, marriage, and other topics.

Special Needs
Because I have a son with special needs, I decided to take an in-depth look at their Special Needs section. In that, you will find information about strengthening behavioral and social skills, along with working with children who have dyslexia, autism, Tourette’s, sensory processing disorder. There is also a course on learning styles, and overall homeschooling support for those of us who have a struggling learner.
World Book
My favorite part? Remember using the old World Book encyclopedias when we were kids? Schoolhouse Teachers includes a subscription to World Book Online – where you can find anything you can imagine an encyclopedia providing. Because my son and I are studying the Civil War right now, we are using this resource specifically. It is a great add-on for any subject you might be studying. Not only do you get the print encyclopedia articles, you also get a listing with links to sources, along with an extensive video and audio library. No matter what, we will be using this throughout our year!

So what are my final thoughts? Everything offered on SchoolhouseTeachers.com is top-notch quality in my opinion, especially for the price. I have really enjoyed exploring all of the great updates to the website! Since 2015, much has been added and it is worth every penny!
