31 Days Through The Gospel – Day 2

31 Days Through The Gospel Icon FlatHow did your study go yesterday? The main thing that hit me yesterday (that I’ve never really thought about) is how God used Zechariah through his mistake. He didn’t believe the angel who told him that his wife would have a child (John the Baptist). Elizabeth was barren… how could she then have a child? Especially one who would foretell the coming of the Christ? So what happened? He was silenced until the child was born. But did you notice how excitedly Zechariah proclaimed the Good News after his ability to speak was returned to him? He spoke with a new excitement, a new zeal for God and for all of His promises. This, after a mistake of not listening. I don’t know about you, but this gives me hope.

Now, let’s continue on in our study…

Day 2 Study Notes:

Reading for Day 2: Matthew 1-2, Luke 2

Prayer Idea for Day 2: Pray that God will renew your excitement about the virgin birth of our Savior, Jesus.

Question for Day 2: Reading Matthew 1 can be somewhat tedious. Why do you think it’s important for us to know and understand the complete genealogy of Jesus?

Verses to Ponder for Day 2: When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped Him. – Matthew 2:10-11a.

Local friends, if you haven’t emailed me about this yet, here’s an exciting additional part: During the 31 days, I will host an evening of worship, study, prayer, and fellowship EACH WEEK (with food, of course) at our home! 🙂 I’m especially excited about this part because I love getting together with girlfriends, and I love genuine, accountability-filled conversation! If you live in my area and would like to join our weekly crew, please email/message me for more details.
