31 Days of Worship: Day 3 – A Heart Never Full

Our youngest’s belly never seems to get full. Of our 3 children, he is definitely the biggest eater!

Not only does he eat a lot, but he also really enjoys his food… as does our dog, Oreo, since yummy food particles seem to fly at her during Little Man’s mealtimes. Tonight was a particularly fun night at the table. Normally I’m too stressed about the messes he makes, but tonight I just let him have fun. He stuffed his face (I probably should have taken a picture) and then he started throwing pieces to Oreo and laughing. It was contagious. Little Perfectionist & Little Artist (otherwise known as our firstborn son and our daughter) started laughing. So Little Man laughed some more. Then Mommy & Daddy started laughing. Each time, the laughter got louder… and we all found ourselves enjoying each other in a we’ll-worry-about-the-mess-later kind of way. It was cool.

As I watched Little Man, I thought about my relationship with God. When was the last time I just enjoyed being in His presence without worrying about my mess? When was the last time I couldn’t get enough of Him? When I just wanted more and more and more… and my heart could never get full? When I wanted to share what I was feeling with others?

Today is a challenge. For me AND for you! Spend time today just enjoying God’s presence. Read His word for no other reason than to get to know Him better. Pray for no other reason than to enjoy the conversation. Yep, it really is a 2-way discussion… if you’ll listen. Worship. Listen to some of your favorite quiet time worship music.

Don’t let your heart get full. Keep wanting more of Jesus! Just seek Him throughout the entire day. Allow yourself to experience a genuine, heartfelt connection with God. And I’d love to hear how your day goes!
