Praying God’s Word for Your Husband

Praying God’s Word for Your Husband by Kathi Lipp offers a unique way to begin a lifestyle of deeply praying for the man in your life. This is not just a how-to book. It is a guide that can be used over and over to pray for different things going on in your husband’s life, as well as your own heart and your marriage relationship.

The first section of the book is about preparing your heart for prayer. Kathi goes through the “why” of praying the Bible back to God, and she explains the many ways this book can be used. There is also a chapter dedicated to praying for unbelieving husbands, which is extremely powerful for those who are in this difficult situation.

Each chapter in section two is dedicated to a specific situation/relationship in your husband’s life. Kathi talks through basic thoughts about each situation/relationship, then leads us to many passages of scripture and prayers that can be offered using those scriptures. The topics are:

  • When he feels overwhelmed
  • Employment
  • Work issues
  • When he feels inadequate
  • His finances
  • His health and safety
  • His relationship with God
  • When he is overcome with worry
  • His past mistakes
  • Understanding God’s plan for his life and dreams
  • His relationships with others
  • His relationship with you
  • His parenting
  • His mind

This is a great book to use over and over again. It is not a book to pick up, read one time, and put on the shelf. Kathi’s book is well-written and detailed, and can be used during emergencies or during the normal day-to-day. I’m planning to pray through a section each week. Not only will this book help in developing a prayer plan for your husband, it will also encourage  you and draw you closer to the Lord… and to your husband. I highly recommend this for all married women.
