Tune-In Tuesday: Love Come to Life

Welcome to Tune-In Tuesday 2012! If this is your first time visiting on a Tuesday, I hope you will find this as a place to worship together. Each week, I share about a song that God is using in my life. One that is speaking to me in whatever season I may be going through. The invitation is for you to jump in and do it, too! This year my goal is nothing more than “toward Him.” You heard a little about this last week, and you will continue to hear more about it. Basically, my prayer is that we will all seek Him like we never have before. So… for Tuesdays, pick a song that leads you to Him.

Here are the steps:

  1. Pick a worship song, share it, and write about it… one that points your heart straight to Jesus.
  2. Link up here using the linky tool at the bottom of this post. Use the name of your song as the title of your link. (If you haven’t done this before, feel free to email me with questions.) If you don’t have a blog, you can leave a comment sharing your song. ***Please use the permalink to your post, not your blog’s main site. Because of the specialized nature of this weekly series, any links that are not specifically for Tune-In Tuesday will be deleted.***
  3. Visit other people’s blogs and let them know you stopped by.
  4. Spread the word. Grab the button in the left column and add it to your post. That way, others can link up, as well. Tweet about it… Try to get others in on the conversation.
  5. Worship! 🙂

My song for this week is Love Come to Life by Big Daddy Weave. Listen below and then keep reading…

Do you ever think we’re missing it? Like maybe we get too caught up in “building a church” or “serving in the church”… so much so that we miss what God wants to do inside of us?

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the why behind what we do. It’s hit me that we seem to do a lot of “doing.” And we run in circles. We miss opportunities to reach those who really need Christ. Those people see us and just think we’re religious. Is it because we’re making church about us? And not about what Jesus can do in a life?

I mean, really… where is our focus when we get caught up in what songs we’re singing, who is singing this or that solo, who was asked to lead this or that group, who gets to be out front, how this program is being run, how I could do it better… get the point? Somehow in trying to do church, we’ve lost Jesus and found ourselves instead.

This song says it clearly. He’s calling this generation to live everything we sing about. He wants the LOVE we speak so loudly of to SHOW… not to grow cold inside of us. He wants us to let go of everything and cling to THE LOVE that’s bigger than our own. May God break all of us to the point that our hands and feet are moved only by our hearts as they beat for Him! And may His love come to life inside of us… so that He may use us to reach a generation that’s hurting and searching…. and who don’t want more programs, more lights, specific outfits, specific stage setups.

They. Just. Want. Something. Real.

And so do I.
