This Morning:
- Journal about how your thoughts are this morning.
- Spend time in prayer, yet again committing this day to Him… committing your mind to Him.
2 Corinthians 10:4-6 is our second battle verse (really a battle passage). When I read through the context of “take every thought captive” I realized that we need to look at the entire passage. As we fight this battle for our minds, we’ve got to realize that we don’t wrestle against the flesh. The battle is not a physical, fleshly boxing match. It is a spiritual battle, fought between our God and the enemy. When we take our thoughts captive to obey Christ, we are battling in the spiritual realm.
We are now entering week 2 of the study. Hard to believe. This week, our focus is called “In Which We See Ourselves and GOD As Too Small.” If you are like me, you probably find that insecurities and fears can be paralyzing. They take our focus off of God and onto ourselves. Over the next week, we are going to talk in depth about some of what I struggle with… and likely what some of you struggle with, as well. In fact, as we are getting ready to begin talking about these issues, my thoughts are already being attacked in this area. Funny thing is… I didn’t recognize what it was until God reminded me what this week is about. My prayer is that you will find some encouragement and release this week if you struggle with the same issues. Please feel free to talk and share with each other.
So for today, start to memorize this verse. Think about what it means. And speak it. OUT LOUD.
The Rest of the Day:
- Have a great day of corporate (and private) worship!
- Throw 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 and Philippians 4:8 at Satan every time he throws a bad thought at you. Continue to be conscious of the patterns that sneak into your mind.
- Before you go to bed, journal about today’s thought patterns, including new ones that may have come to mind. Spend some time in prayer, committing the day to the Lord, and asking Him to protect your unconscious mind as you sleep.

Powers and principalities of powers. It's truely a spiritual battle. Satan will throw a curve ball at the relationship with my husband or children. A piddly little disagreement or difference in opinion can end up in disaster! That's how Satan gets at me………..he knows that harmony is a necessity in our household. Especially for me. It's not going to matter in a month that the sheets have wrinkles, then it's not anything to battle over. Battling in the flesh is not fun, nor easy. But it's the easiest way for us to turn our focus away from Christ.
"stand behind me satan'. I would say this outloud, and when I first met my husband, he thought I was whacked. Now, we're both confident in the power God has given us over Satan through Christ. 'In Christ holy name.'
Put the armor on, we're off to war!
